If you have looked at the Spring 2009 RTW collections recently, you've probably noticed all of the platforms. Yes, you probably know about how outrageously tall those Prada shoes were too. If you don't already know, one model went absolutely head-over-heels (literally) walking in them. Later the models wised up and took off the shoes themselves, holding them in their hands while they cat-walked. Dolce & Gabbana and D&G shoes were equally intimidating, but had wonderfully artistic details. Dior embraced the curvy woman with a sculpted women on the heel on a few of his shoes.
